The Atlantic Centre (AC) is a Portuguese initiative that creates a multinational and multidisciplinary centre which, by adopting a broad concept of security and a Global Atlantic approach, "The whole of Atlantic Approach", promotes, within an Atlantic community of interest:
1. Political dialogue;
2. The dissemination and production of knowledge and doctrine;
3. Security and defence training.
The AC currently comprises 25 members across West Africa, Europe, North America, and South America. In addition to these 25 countries, the Centre collaborates with various international think tanks and organizations, such as the EU, UNITAR, UNODC, MAOC-N, IMO, and GoGMI, among others.
The AC fosters the development of an Atlantic community of interests, focusing on the security and prosperity of the Atlantic region in broad terms.
