On April 22, 2026,
ISCSP-ULisboa will host the Arctic Conference, an initiative organised by the Atlantic Centre in collaboration with ISCSP and with the support of the Embassies of Canada, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Sweden, as well as the Diplomatic Institute.
Under the theme “The Melting of the World's Last Strategic Frontier: Understanding the Arctic in the 21st Century," this conference will bring together representatives from Arctic States, members of the Atlantic community, international experts, and industry leaders to analyze the evolving geopolitical, environmental, and strategic landscape in the region.
Throughout the day, three distinct yet converging areas of analysis will be presented: diplomatic, academic, and operational.
The panel “Diplomacy in the Arctic: Ambassador's Roundtable" was the first to be confirmed and will feature the participation of H.E. Ambassador Ana Paula Zacarias (Diplomatic Institute); H.E. the Ambassador of Canada to Portugal, Elise Racicot; H.E. the Ambassador of Norway to Portugal, Hanne Bursletto; H.E. the Ambassador of Denmark to Portugal, Lars Nielsen; and H.E. the Ambassador of Sweden to Portugal, Elisabeth Eklund.
